The Beloved

This is an invitation to love. To learn about love. To be free to love and experience the return of your love from another. Sometimes, the object of our passion may not be a person; it could be a pet, it could even be a garden that never seems to stop giving back to you in beautiful blooms, fragrances, growth, and abundance.

If you are learning to love a person, do not confuse what you think is love with their personality. Personality is the totality of a person’s qualities, how they appear to others; it is their organized pattern of behavioural characteristics.

If you focus your ability to love on their personality, you will be disappointed because those attributes are not their ability to give and receive love. It was once said to me by a Finnish person that Finnish people often do not express their love as freely and often as other cultures. Instead, they demonstrate their love by doing something for you. Action speaks louder than words in their culture.

As you open yourself up to give love, you must be prepared to look at actions and deeds rather than words.

Pachamama

Pachamama is Mother Earth, Gaia. She loves everything on earth, all that is growing, plants, flowers, trees, grasses, stones, rocks and the water that flows over the world. Pachamama loves all of humanity, in all its diversity and all of its ages.

All that is living on this earth gives the animals and us the ability for our souls to experience a temporary, impermanent, and imperfect physical existence. Regardless of its imperfections, perfection can be an imperfection in itself. Be grateful for it. Every morning and every evening, spend a few minutes to express your gratitude for who you are and what you are.

A shaman connects with the spirits of the trees, flowers, stones, water and air as they seek information to heal someone, a tribe, or a community.

This week, eat carefully and balance your meals and what goes into them. As they say, a little of everything is good; too much of one thing is not. Be nourished by what you eat is the message. Take some time to be happy and light-hearted; take pleasure in art or movies or music as this is an expression of your appreciation for the life you have. Be nourished by what you experience.

Show how much you enjoy the earth and all living things by letting Pachamama witness you do something such as planting something, caring for plants and animals that might not otherwise have been cared for.

The Gatherer

The Gatherer speaks to a time before we grew grains in fields and harvested them according to the seasons. The gatherer found seeds, berries and fruit in places that others might see a barren and desolate. The gatherer can provide when others cannot.

Now is time to take stock of your life. Look at what you wish for and what you do not. What you have around you is abundance if you choose to recognise it for what it is.

Seeing scarcity when there is abundance drags you down. Whatever your situation, use your skills and abilities to bring new things into your life, those things will bring bounty and riches.
