The Sorcerer symbolizes beliefs and ideas of division, struggle and being without. We feel the sorcerer casts a dark shadow over our lives, but in reality, the shadows are our own. Those shadows are feelings of separation from loved one, colleagues, pets. Feelings of conflict and aggression to others in order to achieve our self-centred goals.
Our shadows may be narrow, broad, or generous in their focus. Either way, our busy mind loves to feed off the shadow energy and its negative feelings. The sorcerer is asking you to look at these energies, examine how destructive they are. What are you feeling? Resentment, vengeance, lust, greed, bigotry, or hatred about or to whom or what. These feelings are unjustified and not your spiritual core, which is pushed away without consideration.
The Sorcerer challenges you, confronts your dark thinking and beliefs. Now! Is a second chance! Start over. Be strong and be vigilant about the darkness you are bringing in asked to recognise, and then to discard.
Others are not to blame for what is inside of you, what you allow to be there. Take a moment to create a sense of peace and move in another direction, and do not allow those negative thoughts and feelings to grow again. You are done with that way of living.
Tree of Life
The Tree of Life, Yggdrasil, is a sacred symbol in Norse mythology. In Buddhism it is the Bo tree or Bodhi tree. In Islam, it is the Tree of Immortality. In Christianity, the Tree of Life first appears in Genesis in The Garden of Eden. In Hebrew, it is Etz Chaim. In the Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism depicts the Tree of life with ten interconnected nodes or ten Sefirot powers in the divine realm.
To the Shaman, the Tree of knowledge connects all the realms of existence, from the higher realm of the Gods to the darkness of the underworld.
The message of the Tree of life is twofold for this week and your life.
To connect with the upper world, you need to be tall, not literally but elevated in thought and action. You need to have aspirational goals that are pure and clear and can be acted on. They should not be manipulative or degrading.
A tree with shallow roots will fall over in a strong wind. Now is the time to ensure you are grounded and understand what it is to be foundational. You cannot reach your goals if you have not prepared. To put it simply, if you aspire to be a doctor, you cannot attain that goal unless you complete all the study and training required to be a doctor, not just a doctor; you want to be a good doctor. So, study hard.
To reach the upper world and be grounded means to be aligned with what you desire and what your Life Path purpose is. Open up to your Life Path Purpose and stop simply “turning the wrenches” on a boring, unfulfilling life. Take time, peaceful time, to think about your energies and what you want in life. That will help you create your life rather than be a directionless traveller through it.
At the end of our lives, before we are reborn, there is a period known in some schools of Buddhism as the Bardo State. While in the Bardo, our spirit is conscious and experiences the karma of the life that has just ended and all previous lives. It is a time of spiritual learning and also cleansing.
We do not have to die to experience this state of existence. A deep and protracted illness or a spiritual retreat can allow it to exist in us.
The one thing it does, if it occurs in this life, is to make us look at our relationship with living. It shows us they foretold our place in existence before we are born and that trough life we learn and grow and change as we move towards that final spiritual goal.
Are we making life too hard to live by our actions, beliefs, and behaviour? Do we enjoy enough, do we change enough when asked to change? Listen to your inner self, your soul, and look at the writing on the wall and allow yourself to move towards it. The time is now! Start your journey to grow, to love, forgive sincerely, and dare. Take the leap without requiring life to assure you of success.
This card has come for the second time this month. First time was at the beginning, July 5th. The message of the card is repeated because you have not paid attention to the message. The ego, and the egoic mind that churns over and over as it enjoys the wasting energy of what ifs, what could have happened, and why did I not say or do that? Is pulling at you and you need to let go of all those what ifs. The ego revels in negative thoughts, such as; you can’t do that, you are not good enough, that task is too big for you, or will take too long. Pay attention to the message of the card this second time and move on.
Queen of the Moon Oracle – Wanning Crescent – Surrender
The message of surrender is not about giving up. Far from it.
We all change as we grow and experience. Even if we are 60 years old, we are still learning, still experiencing and as a result we are changing. Take a moment to reflect on what no longer we need in ourselves. This takes patience, it requires you to think about what is no longer uniquely “you.”
Surrendering is a positive thought, feeling, or action. I grew up not knowing I had an uncle until my grandmother died and he inherited her house. Until then, my father and sister had not spoken to him for many years because of a major “unknown” dispute, until this inheritance forced them to speak and reconcile. Voila! I had a new uncle.
They bother recognised they were wrong in holding a grudge and missing out on the years of growth and change in themselves and their brother. Finally, the family was reunited, a very positive outcome.
Surrendering their anger and years of hostility was a positive thing emotionally. Giving away sports equipment for a sport that you no longer take part in signals the end to a part of your life that is over. You enjoyed it while you took part. Now, move on and find something new.
This phase of the moon, Wanning Crescent, is a dark but protective time when we can change and grow from it. Use the time wisely to allow yourself to change and to grow. When the New Moon arrives, you will shine and show how much you are reborn.
